Things I hate about Reading/Writing:
-Being talked down to by an author. I pick up a book to enjoy it, not have my intelligence insulted. I want reading material that both challenges and excites me. Many fail to do this.
-Having everything spelled out in drab, boring itemized lists. If you're not willing to elaborate and leave things for the reader to figure out as they read, then WHY are you writing?!?!
-A story written that shows no growth or potential failure for the protaganists in the tale(and the antagonists also) then what's the POINT? Case in point:(and this is my opinion, don't like it, tough)David Eddings' book, 'The Redemption of Althalus.' That was the most contrived, hack-job, over-rated and overblown piece of literary tripe I've ever had the misfortune of reading. And this is from an author that I normally LIKE. There wasn't even the possibility in this tale that the villains would win, or even have a chance. Likewise there was no growth by anyone, other than the main chara turning for a lazy bum-thief who was wasting his life to being a lazy bum thief wasting his life for a Goddess. Big change there. What I got was an over-wrought rehash of all the bad cliches about writing that made little to no sense and should have really been discarded before release. Few books make me want to actually BURN it when I'm reading. But Althalus did.
that's about all for now.. I'll comment on dislikes further.. Anyone have any they'd like to add?

Ya know, I think everyone should watch Witchblade on tuesdays. It's a good show. And now they have a spinky dood with Irish accent. However, Nottingham/Conkobar(sp?) slash is not something I want to see until there is actual BASIS for it. Slash I'd like to see, however:
Nottingham/Irons the Lacroix knockoff(though Anthony Cistaro is making the role more his and less of a Lacroix ripoff)
Conkobar/Sara: Okay, so this doesn't technically qualify as slash, but you have to wonder about Sara.
Jake/Cpt. Dante: One Word: EEEEEEW.
Other pairings I'd like to see:
Nottingham/Sara(C'mon, it's OBVIOUS)

Poe, Sarah, Kiih, Sam, Kaineta and Other's weekly schedule:
Day 1: Avert Apocaplypse in some other realm.
Day 2: Deal with Numerous Unsavory Individuals who want to do Unsavory things to us.
Day 3: More of the same.
Day 4: Plots ways to prevent one of our own from being made into a mindless puppet.
Day 5: Avert another Apocaplypse, two planes over. Frequent Flyer miles do not apply.
Day 6: Mediate a dispute between feuding planes. Be home in time for BBQ.
Day 7: Relax for an hour. Then attend a royal banquet. Thwart assasination attempts on assorted royalty.
The preceding probably doesn't make much sense to many, but it's an inside joke anyways. And if you're not inside, you won't get it. But maybe you will.
